About our supplies: (for curious folks)
We love being able to recycle and reuse things over here.
-We have a pretty awesome selection of 2nd hand needles (that are cleaned are pretty much as new!) that we collect from charity shops, ebay lots and donations from friends, family and local community members. We pass on the savings too, so you know you're getting a good deal.
-Our yarn used in these kits is affectionately called 'Barn Yarn' because we have a rolling 2nd-hand sale in our barn building behind the shop. We hate seeing craft supplies go into landfill so we take any 'unwanted' stash, clean it up, roll/detangle the balls if need be and then put a teeny price on it so people on a tight budget, beginners, or people making charity knits can enjoy the savings. This is awesome cause we know a lot of families of crafters that pass away want the supplies to go to a good home and be loved- as well as sometimes us crafters can get carried away, buy too much and then need to 'destash'! Our elves work super hard to process all the donations we get as well as reselling for people that want a little kick-back. Either way, this helps support us as a local-yarn-shop as we often get people checking in to see 'whats new' in the barn. Because of this, we don't always have labels for the yarn. If that's important to you, please message us and we will do our best to estimate what the fibre content is.
-The print-out that we use is one that's supplied from Lets Knit magazine for Local Yarn Shops to use as part of their 'Yarn Shop Day' that happens every year. Thank you Lets Knit and Chiao Goo for sponsoring this. This print out shows you (with illustrations and words) how to 'Cast on', do the basic Knit and Purl stitches, as well as how to Increase, Decrease and then finish it off with a Cast Off. It does not include a pattern, but has everything you need to get started and get used to working with needles and yarn.
