"Pomegranate" Natural Sock

"This is my NATURAL SOCK: local, natural + ethical!
I strive to create a product that is working in harmony with and benefiting both the EARTH and the COMMUNITY! 100% ethical, plastic free and non-superwash, spun with a high twist for a super strong yarn made of natural fibres only! It is very springy and blooms after blocking into a lovingly soft fabric with brilliant stitch definition. For the perfect pair of socks or garment of your choice! It’s completely natural, no nasty chemicals, no plastics, just quality British wool and plant colour!" - Alice of Wool Matters Fibre Co.

Here's the YARN SPECS:
100% Shetland X Romney Lambswool
100g Skein / 360m
Weight: Sock / Fingering

ORIGIN + PROCESS:
The wool for this yarn comes from sheep that are ethically and regeneratively farmed at Fernhill Eco Farm in the Mendips, Somerset (UK) and is spun at Halifax Spinning Mill in West Yorkshire (UK) with great care and knowledge to create this unique yarn for Woolmatters Fibre Co.! It is then dyed naturally in North Somerset by me with plants that are foraged (like oak bark, walnut husks or alder cones) and home grown (like Dahlias, Sunflower seeds or Marigolds) or rescued from food waste (like Onion skins or Avocado skins + stones), with some purchased natural dyestuff (like dried Madder root or Brazil wood chips) in the mix. I try to minimise the impact of the dyeing process on the earth by cold dyeing when I can to save energy, by not using any harmful chemicals and by foraging with respect and only taking what I need.

CARE:
Carefully wash your creations made with this yarn with wool wash and by hand in lukewarm water. Lay flat to dry and avoid direct sunlight, as the colours are light sensitive. This yarn is very springy and will bloom into an amazingly soft fabric if blocked properly (I use a no-rinse wool wash) so I really advise not skip this step!
I rinse all my yarn carefully but a small amount of colour might still bleed out when washing, which is completely normal.
I recommend to always alternate skeins when knitting, as slight colour differences can occur even from skeins coming from the same dye pot. Embrace nature!

PHOTOS:
I am trying my best to represent the colours as true to the original as possible, but please note that screens and eyes vary!
