MIDNIGHT SWIM Tweed Carded nests 50g

Sold by the 50g, these mini Batts or 'carded nests' are carded by hand and prepared so they are fluffy and soft and ready for spinning, no drafting required! Delicate and full of fun add-ins, you're bound to make some really unique spinning with these. Some of the blending we do by hand (like rolags and batts), others (like tops) are done at a UK mill.

Unique hand picked colourways and fibre blends. 50g (4 nests in total)
Approx fibre content:
50% British Shetland
50% Zero Waste/Botany Lap Waste
+ Wool Nepps

About this Colourway:
I'm a little bit obsessed with 'soft' and 'dirty' colours. When I paint with watercolours, I always add a bit of brown or grey to make it feel muted. So when I'm blending colours I love to try and get the same look and feel. These little nests are blended multiple times with a bright colour and brown BFL and pops of coloured Nepps. These four are my Midnight Swim set. dark teal, navy, black and dirty lavender.

Spinning tip: All this gorgeous fibre comes from a British mill and it's a mixture of dyed tops, dyed fleeces, natural tops and end of runs on the blending machines. I love using this because I love taking something that might be unwanted or unused, and giving it a new life and some love. And anything we can do to reduce waste is a-okay with me! From what I can guess, here's the types of fibres that are in this batt: Shetland, BFL, Merino other natural wools.

ZERO WASTE: Sometimes there just isn't enough of something to make a large run of it, sometimes you get to the end of a run of colour and you end up with bits and pieces left over. We collect these bits and pieces, put them together and come up with something beautiful. Each of these rolags have complimentary nepps for a tweed effect, and some pops of colour add-ins. They are full of surprises, layered and drafted and rolled into little magic wands of fibre.

*Note! Because this is a zero-waste product, it's super limited edition and can not be repeated*
