ABOUT: The wonderful thing about being a knitter or crocheter is being a part of a supportive community. As adults, there's tons of opportunities to meet like-minded folk, have a chat and make friends. So, we're offering a place for younger people with an interest in yarn that same opportunity. Knitters are some of the nicest people you'll ever meet, and lifelong friendships can sprout from joining a craft group too. At Alterknit Universe we are inclusive, always respect preferred pronouns, and know from experience that a craft can be so good for our mental health.

Junior Knit Group is a place for kids aged 8+ to explore knitting and crochet. Fortnightly sessions offer guidance on both knit and crochet to kids who know the basics. Parents/Guardians can drop them off or stay and enjoy a coffee. Perfect place to make friends with other crafty kids in the area.

Break it down:
- For kids over 8 years, and teens.
- Must know basic knitting or crochet stitches
- Advice available from Julie (her day-job is working with kids, with a lifetime of experience with yarn)
- Water available for free, other drinks available from £1.00
- Parking available on street or outside shop.
- Group runs from 10am-11:30am
- Pre-Booking is not necessary but we will have to cap the group at 5 Junior Knitters.

WHAT YOU NEED: Please bring your own project- or money to buy supplies here. It's best if you have a pattern or a project in mind, the idea being this space is great to socialise and get some progress done. There will only be a minimal amount of teaching, in the form of guidance and advice. We can, of course, help you choose yarn and needles in store, there's sure to be something to delight!
