"Glissade" - Sanctuary BFL/Bamboo Sock

ABOUT THE COLOURWAY (From Amy!):
Due to the dye technique used, no two skeins of this colourway are the same - if your project requires more than one skein - I recommend alternating skeins throughout.

ABOUT THE BASE:
Sanctuary is a collaboration between Amy (Stranded Dyeworks) and Kim (Alterknit Universe) as it combines the lovely colours and softness of Amy's gorgeous hand dyed yarns, with Kim's take on sustainable and local yarns. The combination of BFL (Blue Faced Leicester) and Bamboo gives this base a bouncy by drapey feel.

Fingering Weight (sock yarn) blend of 80% Superwash BFL and 20% Bamboo.

It's quite a strong twist, and combined with the bamboo, this base is designed to withstand wear. It's perfect for socks but looks equally lovely in shawls and garments.

Approx 400m/437yds per 100 skein.

Kim loves BFL because it's a breed of sheep that is commonly found in the UK, so there hasn't been a lot of air miles to get the fleece spun up. Kim loves Bamboo because it's an incredibly fast growing plant, which means it's far more sustainable that other plant-based fibres (like cotton), and it's softness is close to silk! This base comes from a British mill, which means you're helping to support the British wool industry.

Superwash wool is machine washable - I recommend using a wool/delicates cycle, or a 30 degree wash and laying flat to dry. I recommend washing items separately or hand washing for the first few washes as minimal colour bleeding may occur.

A note about hand dyed yarn:
Unless otherwise noted, all Amy's colourways are repeatable, however no two skeins are identical. And the Sanctuary base should be considered a limited edition until further notice.
All yarn is from a smoke-free, cat friendly environment (although the cats are not allowed to play in the yarn!).
