WHY WE STOCK THIS: These were donated to AgeUK as part of an initiative to help combat loneliness during the UK lockdowns in 2020/2021. These balls were left over and looking for some forever homes. We donated some money to AgeUK and promised that these balls of yarn wouldn't end up in landfill. We're offering them at discount prices as part of our 'Barn Yarn' selection. Our infamous 'Barn Yarn' (super reduced yarn to be used and loved by those on a tight budget) can usually be found behind our shop in our little barn along with a rolling 2nd hand sale on all kinds of craft supplies. We're slowly adding a selection of this to our online shop when it's possible :) The very small profit we make from our Barn Yarn goes directly back into running the barn.

We do not know much about the provenance of these yarns/fibres, only the content as listed on the ball band. We do not regularly stock these brands so cannot attest to the ethicality of the brands either. We treat these yarns as 'recycled' because they would not otherwise be used, and we would much rather use what's on this planet than discard them and create waste. (Think of it like thrifting or going to the charity shop!)
