About Yarnadelic:
The wonderful John, founder of John Arbon Textiles, is not only a spinner of yarn… but also of records. This collection of melange shades are inspired by his eclectic record collection. There’s even a playlist where you can hear the direct inspiration (Click here!)

About the fibre:
“Yarnadelic is 100% Falklands Corriedale. The breed is around 100 years old and was derived by crossing the Merino and Lincoln Longwool. It is one of our favourite fibres as its properties are a perfect balance of delightful softness and bounce from the Merino combined with the slight lustre and long staple length of the Lincoln Longwool – a fibre lover’s dream!

By giving this yarn a rounded 3 fold structure, we’ve enhanced the fibres natural stitch definition and drape creating the ideal all round go to yarn for everything from cables to lace and garments to accessories.

Our Corriedale is farmed in the Falkland Islands – ensuring that the animals have been treated with the utmost care and are free from harmful mulesing. The fibre has then been dyed in the UK and lovingly prepared, blended and spun at our North Devon Mill.” (Quoted from the jarbon website)

WHY WE STOCK THIS:

First off, John Arbon is a local mill to us- it’s just a few counties away in North Devon. The machines used at the mill are lovingly restored from vintage machines, and I just love that they are getting more use and new life mixing and spinning up gorgeous blends. They are really conscious about where the fibre comes from too- be it a local farmer, or well treated sheep from the Falklands. A nice and friendly team, you’ve probably seen them at yarn festivals- always with amazing colours and a vintage vibe. Specifically, I was drawn to stock Yarnadelic because of HOW the colours are made. They are dyed into solid shades, and then carded and blended (similarly to how I make my own blends) to create complex colours that house tons of shades. That black-looking skein… it’s got magenta, turquoise, yellow and more in it!
